The HearUs foundation has been established with the object of raising funds in order to assist individuals who are unable to cover the cost of a cochlear implant.

There are many children and adults in South Africa who have a severe to profound hearing loss, which can have a devastating effect on the individuals concerned as well as their families. For children born deaf the ability to reach their full potential will be compromised.

For young people and adults everyday communications at work or in the classroom will be diminished. Telephone use is also compromised.
Cochlear implants provide the opportunity to restore hearing or provide hearing for the first time to these individuals and give them the confidence to live a full life.

However, the cost of this procedure in South Africa is very expensive and medical aids do not cover the the full cost of the implant. There are also additional expenses incurred after the implantation.

We therefore appeal to any person or company that would like to contribute towards this fund to please do so. HearUs has no commission structure and minimal overhead costs. This means that almost 100% of your donation will be directed towards the beneficiaries of Cochlear implants.
