A leading Active Brand, located in the garment district of NYC is looking for an Associate Designer for Women’s Activewear.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting Lead Designer on developing product each season
• Research and identify trend directions
• Shop market for trend and inspiration and interpret for the target market
• Working through all stages of product development from proto through final production sample
• Creating and updating CADs along with techpack detail sheets for both development and production stages
• Collaborating between Design, TD and Production department
• Communication with licensed teams through approval process
• Manage all deadlines within Development/Production Calendar
• Assist sample tracking
• Attend fittings and update tech packs as needed
• Maintain design libraries and filing systems
• Manage Hangtag and Packaging requests to update artwork for production orders
• Create packaging ideas for special projects, giftables, 2-packs, etc.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2-3 years professional experience preferably in Activewear
• Strong illustrator flat sketching skills
• Knowledge of garment construction
• Well versed in Adobe Illustrator in a MAC environment
• Highly organized with excellent communication skills; team oriented.
• Ability to multi-task, trouble-shoot and problem solve
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround and deadlines
• Ability to prioritize workload based on design calendar
• Position is based in NYO
