Position: Piping Designer

Location: Billings, MT Refinery

We are seeking an experienced Piping Designer to join our team at a refinery located in Billings, MT. This role involves creating, revising, and managing piping design deliverables in support of capital and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, a proactive work ethic, and the ability to collaborate effectively in both office and field environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and revise piping drawings throughout all phases of the design and Management of Change (MOC) process.
• Assemble complete piping design packages for use in construction.
• Support design efforts from initial concept through construction, ensuring alignment with project goals and standards.
• Perform field walks to gather accurate data and validate design requirements.
• Manage design priorities, track progress, and report status to project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other designers to ensure design integrity and constructability.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in piping design within industrial or refinery settings.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with 3D modeling and point cloud workflows is required.
• In-depth understanding of piping standards, methods, and best practices.
• Familiarity with REP standards is preferred.
• Ability to safely work in both office and active refinery environments.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a strong sense of accountability and work ethic.
